What the visa application needs
Proof of funds and identity
A passport valid for at least six months, recent photographs and evidence that treatment and stay can be paid for — usually bank statements or a sponsor letter. Requirements vary by mission, so check your local Indian embassy or consulate page before applying.
Attendant documents
India issues medical-attendant visas for up to two companions linked to the patient's visa. Attendants apply separately, referencing the same invitation letter, and must show their relationship to the patient.
Medical records
Diagnosis summary, recent imaging and blood work. These are not always requested at the visa stage, but carrying them avoids repeat tests and speeds up admission on arrival.
